well, International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.
International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday.

my campus is having this 100th International Women's Week right now. talks n dance night are on the track. however i did not participate in any cuz of my tonnes of assignment ><" fyi, the first International Women's Week was celebrated in 1911.
